BrainControl team will participate at the UNICEF international exhibition on Assistive Technology for Children with Disabilities
According to UNICEF, there are approximately 93 million children aged 14 or younger that live with a disability, and they often face challenges in enjoying their rights and they are subject to discrimination and social exclusion.
Many are excluded from education: data from 15 countries found that almost 50% of children with disabilities are out of school, 85% have never received any education. Children with disabilities face the same barriers in participating in education regardless of socio-economic groups and different individual characteristics.
From 7th to 8th of March, in Geneva, UNICEF organized an international exhibition on Assistive Technology in Accelerating Learning and Participation of Children with Disabilities. The event will include participants from more than 150 countries.
Braincontrol team was invited to showcase the platform for Augmentative Alternative Communication, including the avatar functionality, a robotic alter ego allowing children to interact with their friends by remote, participate during lesson at school, visit museums, attend an event.
The international exhibition will promote the use of assistive technology for children in overcoming barriers in learning and participation in education. The exhibition is also organised around the Human Rights Council Session in March on the topic of “Empowering children with disabilities for the enjoyment of their human rights, including through inclusive education.”
